Brother UK is forging ahead with its campaign to build skills and knowledge across its sales team by signing a new three-year partnership with the Institute of Sales Professionals (ISP).
Brother, which supplies technology solutions and services for businesses of all sizes, has a 60-strong sales team based at its headquarters in Manchester and was one of the original partners to join the ISP as corporate members. Working together, the two organisations have developed a programme of continuous professional development which is now focused on the ISP’s Fair framework.
Under the framework, ISP members pledge to: Follow the rules; provide Appropriate solutions in the best interests of their customers, stakeholders and the organisations they work for; act with Integrity; and Raise the bar with continuing professional development.
Over the period of the new partnership, all Brother’s salespeople will resit the ISP’s professional registration exam. The test needs to be retaken every two years to remain on the ISP’s public register of competent, ethical salespeople.
Progress reviews will also refine current skills and identify areas of improvement to maintain the company’s impressive record of empowering their employees by investing in their careers.
Brother UK holds an Investors in People platinum award, one of the most prestigious accolades in people management, which was conferred after rigorous rounds of employee interviews, surveys, and substantial supporting evidence.
Phil Jones MBE, managing director of Brother UK, and a founding fellow of the ISP said: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with the ISP to continue to develop our professional skills with industry-leading qualifications.
“Our approach to selling is consultative and customer focused. Developing skilled, ethical salespeople gives our customers the confidence that they are doing business with a trusted supplier. Trust is key to building good business partnerships where both buyer and seller benefit.
“Our business partners often cite Brother UK as one of the best vendors they work with. This is a tribute to the work we are doing with the Institute of Sales Professionals and justifies the investment in our people.”
Patrick Joiner, managing director of the Institute of Sales Professionals said: “Brother UK has been at the forefront of our campaign to revolutionise business-to-business selling and we are very happy that our successful partnership is continuing for another three years.
“The foresight and hard work by Phil Jones and his team to develop professional selling skills, backed by the ISP’s qualifications and programme of continuous professional development, has paid dividends for Brother’s customers and business and I am confident that together we will be celebrating further achievements.”
“I am also delighted that Phil will be speaking at our first, post-covid live event for members on July 7. Full details will be announced shortly.”
