Ideagen shows commitment to ethical selling with new award

Ideagen, the leading provider of software solutions to businesses in highly regulated industries, has achieved its second Investor in Sales award. The award, from the Institute of Sales Professionals (ISP), recognises businesses that commit to supporting their salespeople in maintaining the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct in their dealings with customers.

To receive the team award, individual salespeople must take an exam – pass mark 80% – to be accredited and appear on the ISP’s publicly searchable, professional register. Accreditation remains current for two years, at which point salespeople must pass a new exam to keep their place on the register and renew their team’s accreditation.

Ideagen was an early adopter of this programme and has now successfully renewed its accreditation.

The Investor in Sales award is a key part of the ISP’s Fair accreditation. Under the Fair framework,ISP members pledge to: Follow the rules; provide Appropriate solutions in the best interests of their customers, stakeholders and the organisations they work for; act with Integrity; and Raise the bar with continuing professional development.

This award comes on the back of a successful year for Ideagen. Despite difficult trading conditions in some of its markets it has seen sales growth of 16%, and in the last week announced the acquisition of two new businesses to add to its growing product range.

Ben Dorks, CEO of Ideagen, said “I am passionate about professionalising the sales function. The salesforce is the engine room of business growth and, as a lifelong salesperson myself, I am determined to offer our salespeople the opportunity to develop their skills and to build a successful career in a profession that I love. Our membership of the ISP, the Fair programme and the institute’s endorsement of our sales training enable us to offer a structured and professional career development plan for our salespeople. Membership of the ISP has played a valuable part in supporting our long-term growth plans.”

Congratulating Ideagen on its achievements, ISP MD, Patrick Joiner said, “Ideagen has created a high-achieving sales environment, sets high standards for its salespeople and supports them in meeting those standards. We are proud to count Ideagen among our corporate members and delighted to work with the leadership team to offer their salespeople the professional development and recognition they deserve.”

James King, Ideagen chief revenue officer, added: “Our investment in the future of our own people is reflected in our investment in the future of our local community. We play an active role in supporting local community initiatives and sponsor the Nottingham Forest Academy and women’s development teams. As a business, Ideagen is focused on the development of new skills, talent and technology, and our membership of The Institute of Sales Professionals is part of our strategy of investment for future success.”
