Join this important research and help put the humanity back into sales

Seventy-five per cent of suicides in the UK are by men and we want to understand why.

In the run-up to International Men’s Day on 19 November, the Institute of Sales Professionals (ISP) is supporting research to learn more about men’s mental health.

The project, by the ISP’s mental health partners Wellity, will help to understand what issues men are facing today and how they can be supported at work and in their personal lives.

To assist Wellity’s research please take part in their short survey. It is fully anonymous and will take five minutes to complete. If you identify as a man and are within the working population click on this link to take part: https://lnkd.in/d5X7cQfU

Simon Scott-Nelson, a fellow of the Institute of Sales Professionals and CEO of Wellity Global, said: “The only way we can truly understand what it means to be a man in the modern world is to talk openly, candidly, and unashamedly about the challenges, perceptions and realities faced.

“The data collected from our research will help normalise the conversation around men’s mental health and will be incredibly powerful in helping people to realise that they are not alone.”

Andrew Hough, ISP CEO said: “It’s important to understand, we are not superheroes. “Sellers generally have more pressure on them than anyone else. In fact, they are the most measured of any business profession. More than 60% of salespeople will miss their goals, but this is tagged as their fault. They’re told that it’s the person, not the organisation.

“Yet we don’t measure the feelings of that seller, nor do we measure how their feelings directly affect their customers. Too often, organisations don’t evaluate the barriers to salespeople being more successful; and they don’t coach the change in behaviour that is needed, nor support sellers to build successful customer engagement. I hope you can take part in this research and help us put the humanity back into sales.”
