Spotlight on sales education in our new Professional Selling magazine

Our focus on sales education, qualifications and training is featured in the spring edition of our e-magazine, “Professional Selling”. Please lend your voice to the campaign to help us raise awareness of the importance of business to business (B2B) selling.

Writing in the May 2023 edition, Patrick Joiner, managing director of the Institute of Sales Professionals (ISP), says: “We are all aware of the rapid evolution of the sales profession, particularly in the B2B sector. We hear how buyer behaviour is changing and how sales professionals need to be adapting and developing their skills to meet customer expectations.

“At the same time, many employers tell us that they are struggling to recruit into their sales teams and retain their most talented salespeople.”

The B2B sales sector contributes about £1.7 trillion to the UK economy, over 70% of GDP so attracting the most talented school leavers and graduates into the profession, and the continuing development of our existing salespeople is critical to our economic success.

Over the coming months, the ISP will be looking in more detail at the issues that are causing a shortfall in sales talent across companies and sectors and how, we can work together to engage employers, educators and government to play their part in nurturing and developing the brightest to join our great profession.

Also in May’s e-magazine we are featuring:
:: the sales transformation at Royal Mail which has won the organisation another prestigious award.

:: a feature on solution selling with Mark Erskine, the director and owner of Seller Performance, who says that in a world where differentiation is scarce, it is our salespeople and account managers that can make the difference.

:: Oxford College of Marketing (Oxcom) is proud to announce a new partnership with the ISP to deliver high-quality education and training in sales.

:: a survey from our partners, Ideagen about what customers want when considering price and quality in uncertain times.

:: an event list of free ISP webinars, our book club, and more.
